I’m not usually
like this, but today I woke up ready to run on the treadmill. I highlight “treadmill” because I am ready to run
everyday….just not on the machine.
I just get so bored not having anything to look at. There’s no breeze or
animals chirping or trees clapping their hands (a reference from Isaiah
55). All I have is tv. Bleh! Who wants to watch tv when nature
is right outside?! But, today, I crave my treadmill and the slow, methodical rhythm
of my feet hitting the belt. I don’t know who I am anymore. ;)
Well, I decided to
wait until after Maddie wakes up this morning to take my run since it is going
to be nice out. I try to take her
with me at least once a week so that my body is ready for the outdoor running
(hills, heat and wind resistance) on my Saturday long runs and races. I’ll be
up to 10 miles this Saturday! I am looking forward to running the whole running
path loop: something I haven’t done in about 2 years.
Maddie is my
little happy angel. She is just such a bouncy, smiley baby! I love it so
much. She gets so excited to see
us, so our days always start off amazingly. As soon as she wakes up and we come into the room to get
her, she gets a glimpse of us, smiles really big, screams (and I don’t mean a
little screech – this is a scream heard throughout the house), and kicks her
legs uncontrollably to exclaim her excitement. I L.O.V.E. this so much. She also does this when Phil comes home from work or when I
return from my small group on Wednesday nights. It’s the best.
Maddie is still walking
around (assisted) a lot and is getting a little bit better at her balance. I’ve
noticed that she’s on her heals more than she used to be. She started off as a
toe walker, but is slowly figuring out that it’s easier to balance on the whole
foot.
She also surprised
me last week during tummy time by getting up onto all fours briefly. She is pushing up higher on her hands
than she used to and is actually pushing herself backwards a little bit. It seems like her upper body strength
is getting better and better. Yay!
Maddie makes a new
fun face. She scrunches up her
little nose and then breathes in and out through it really loudly. It is so funny and makes me laugh.
Then, my laughing makes her laugh.
It’s fabulous.

This past week was
wonderful. Maddie and I spent a lot of time with friends and family and enjoying
the nice weather. It is finally
warming up!
| At the park with Rory and Erica! The two babies had so much fun swinging and playing. |

I have my
follow-up appointment for the dentist this upcoming Friday. God really answered my prayers about my
tooth! Instead of doing the full root canal and new crown, the dentist just
adjusted the crown so that my bite was more in alignment. It has made a world of difference. I am
hoping that it will tighten back up on it’s own and that no other work is
needed, but we’ll see!
And a quick update
on my Bible memorization: I finished Isaiah 55 and am now working on the sermon
on the mount in Matthew 5. The
Word and teaching of Jesus: so
refreshing to my soul.
